Working Title |
Clint |
Synopsis |
Write a short outline of your story – briefly mentioning the main
characters and what happens to them. |
A mockumentary that follows, Clint. A puppet
living in the human world who believes he is treated differently because he
is different. However he is actually just the worst! |
|
Setting |
Say where and when the story happens – you need to describe the
environment in which the action takes place |
I am going to film at the creative studios and
around the college campus. The mockumentary will follow Clint around his day
to day life and that will include being at college so I want to film in
classrooms and use the studio for recording talking head interviews. I will
be filming in my home |
|
Genre |
Say what type of programme it will be – will it be naturalistic,
melodramatic or comic? |
The Genre of my FMP is going to be comedy in the
sub-genre of Mockumentary |
|
Narrative Structure |
Say how the programme is broken down - is the story told in
chronological order and are there sub plots? |
The plot will follow a simple narrative
structure. It will start with an introduction to Clint and his life at
college. Then we will have some cutaways to home life and will we meet his
brother. Then we cut back to college and more of Clint being annoying |
|
Vision |
Explain how the film will look – this will include the style of camerawork,
the use of colour and the use of lighting |
The cinematography will be handheld, mimicking a
real life documentary. This allows for the camera to follow Clint around and
to feel as natural and as realistic as possible. The lighting will also all
be natural lighting: in the classrooms, in hallways and in my house. This is
also to make it feel very natural. However for talking heads, I may use the professional
three point lighting |
|
Sound |
Explain how you will use sound to help tell the story – how you will combine the four
layers of film sound to add to the total effect |
All sound used in my FMP will be diegetic. Any
music used will also be diegetic and played through a characters phone or
computer screen |
|
Editing |
Explain the cutting of shots and the use of transitions – what kind of pace will you
have, and how you move from one scene to the next |
It’ll be faced paced editing because I want to
try and get my piece into a 3-5 minute sketch |
Black Balance- when the camera is used for the first time. If the camera has been in a period of disuse, Switch between progressive and interlaced
PAL:
I- Upper Field, odd. Interlaced will look like a TV show
P- Even, Lower Field. Both fields scanning the frame at the same time
50 fields per second on video at 25 frames . 2 fields = 1 frame
Hue: Colour Temperature. Kelvin- Absolute zero is -273 Degrees
A low Hue is orange (EG a candle). Low light conditions, 1000K
High colour temperature is Blue. (Eg, clear sky), 10,00K
Gain- If no control of light, gain amplifies existing light.
However Gain, introduces noise/grain
Lighting:
3 point lighting: Key lighting, Fill light and Back light
Key light, next to the camera, Back lights the back of a subject and Fill light lights up the shadows
PAG on the camera
Lastolite which is a reflector. Can be white, silver or gold,. Silver reflects the greatest amount of light. Gold gives it lowest amount of Kelvin
- Diffuser or SCRIM- exposure triangle, light the background with 3 point lighting. here you can introduce colour gels, either blue, red or orange
- Actor- 3 point lighting, this will enable the actor to be 3D
